Tapping
into Your Money Potential:
Emotion
is
More
Powerful than Thought
by

“If
the emotional
thought is stronger than the mental
thought, then the physical
result is often no action at all. Emotion
overpowers the mental idea. … When
one mental idea changes – it often requires changing emotionally, mentally,
and spiritually.
Many
people cannot achieve their hearts desires because they become prisoners of
their own doubts and fears. Their
doubts and fears force them to keep doing the same old things, hoping things
will change, which is the popular definition of insanity,”
Robert Kiyosaki, Author of Rich
Dad Poor Dad
A
client who came into my office recently said he had been feeling depressed.
One of the things that was bothering him was money problems.
He is a songwriter and musician and is now ready to record his music.
During our session, we discovered that he had a subconscious belief that
he was incompetent with money (his evidence for this belief was all his mistakes
and problems with money in the past). He
believed (subconsciously) that he was a failure with money so it would be better
not to have it than to create it and loose it again.
That would bring him even more intense feelings of failure than if he
just stayed semi-poor.
A
part of him had given up hope that
he would ever
be able to handle money in a responsible way.
Other parts of him still had hope that he could make a positive change in
this area. He had developed
subconscious belief that since he had not been a good steward over the money he
had been given in the past, he doesn’t deserve to have money in the future.
He also had a hidden belief that having a lot of money might hinder his
music and spiritual growth by sidetracking him onto a materialistic path.
He
was really stuck in a way that immobilized him and caused him to be focused on
money problems. This, ironically,
distracted him from his ability to live in joy and focus on his spiritual life.
He felt stuck between his past and his future and could not move forward
into the unfamiliar opportunities that are being presented to him.
The
current opportunity to record and distribute his music has the potential to
bring a lot of money into his life. His
subconscious mind was helping
him
avoid success and money at all costs. (Our
subconscious is a neutral faithful servant always assisting us to prove that our
hidden beliefs are right). This led
to his avoidance of doing the things he needed to do to get ready to go to the
studio and successfully record his beautiful music.
After
some clearing of these old blocks, his energy seemed to lift and he felt
peaceful, confident and ready to move forward into his future.
He felt more optimistic that he can develop a better relationship to the
money that may come to him in the future. He
felt capable of handling money more wisely and more aligned with the concept
that prosperity would enable him to contribute more to humanity - that his
wealth could be a blessing to himself and others.
The results of his changes will be fully evident in the weeks to come,
but from all indications, he is ready to create a brighter future.
Money
has always been somewhat of an issue for me as well. My mother was widowed at 32
with four children to raise. Money
was a problem all through my childhood although our needs were always met.
I don't know how my mother did it. She
struggled with making enough money and with managing it as well.
As I watched her struggle, I developed some beliefs about money and how
there was never enough and how you had to work so hard to get it.
The
topic of money has been uncomfortable for me and also mysteriously fascinating
at the same time. I have read the
books and attended prosperity seminars where material wealth and well being was
the topic. And still, I seemed to
get stuck in certain
aspects of making and dealing with money.
A
couple of years ago, after learning some new clearing techniques, I made a list
of the negative feelings, beliefs and ideas I had around the topic of money.
I listed everything I could think of –
fears about failing, not having enough, having too much, (if I have it-
there might not be enough for others, I shouldn’t have more than others in my
family, resistance to the
responsibility of it, etc. I also
listed some of the major mistakes I have made with money, the evidence I had
used to prove to myself that I wasn’t capable with money, etc.).
Then I began clearing the energy related to each thing on the list.
It has made a dramatic difference in my life and my relationship with
money is much healthier. I
encourage you to make your own "issues and beliefs related to money
list". Even if you experience
an abundance of money in your life – you may have issues with spending,
saving, or giving.
I
will be sharing more about clearing prosperity blocks in the next few articles.
